Gretools

GNOME Vocabulary Builder
Last updated Jun 2004.

About

Gretools is a vocabulary building tool for GNOME. It is a fun and efficient way to learn words. It uses a modified version of Sungwoo Park's wordlist having about 4000 words. Gretools is open source (GPL) software.

Features

Gretools consists of a synonym quiz, a word guessing game and a word browser. It automatically remembers the words you had difficulty with and lets you revise them. You can set a filter to restrict the space of words to practice on.

Requirements

Gnome2 and the various python-gnome libraries are required. It has been tested on Redhat 9 and Fedora Core 1.

Download and installation

The latest version is 1.2.4 (tarball, rpm, srpm, ChangeLog)

You can install the tarball using

./configure; make; make install
and the rpm using your favorite pointy-click method.

You can also download extra wordlists.

TODO

I consider gretools to be complete. No new features will be added. Of course, bugs will be found and fixed.
