Hi, my name is
Bon Koo and this is my personal website!
I am glad that you are showing interest in knowing more about me, unless, of course, you came here by mistake. Still I hope you can learn about me by navigating through this website.
Just for an introduction, I am a
third-year undergraduate computer science student at the
University of Texas at Austin. I was a pre-dental student until my junior year (Spring 2013), so I have taken numerous Biology and Chemistry courses (list available in the Education section).
I like both theory and application aspects of the computer science. Some of my favorite topics in Computer Science include Algorithms, Distributed Computing, Network Security, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, and System Architecture.
I have applied to the
Integrated 5-Year BS/MS Program offered by the Computer Science Department at the University of Texas at Austin, and I hope to get into the program, so I can take graduate computer science courses to learn more about those topics in more depth. Also, I like to obtain a PhD in Computer Science at some point in my life.
Anyway, I am a
Korean (South for those who are wondering) who have moved to the United States when I was an eighth grader. I lived in
Houston, Texas for about 5 years (graduated from the
Langham Creek High School with about 800 other students) before I moved to
Austin, Texas for college.
I enjoy watching and playing most sports, but my favorite sports are
football (and no, not American football) and
tennis. I also enjoy to be engaged in discussions with others as doing so often introduces me to new perspectives and ideas.
