a fellow student:
The first trick to setting permissions is to be using the correct browser. I had to contact IT help to figure this one out. Chrome and Safari have logout issues when trying to manage files on WebSpace. I recommend using Firefox whenever accessing WebSpace.Below is a list of instructions on how to change permissions to a file after it has been uploaded to WebSpace:
- Click on the checkbox for the file you wish to change permissions
- Click on 'Manage' (a drop down menu located above the list of files)
- Click on 'Permissions' in the drop down menu
- Click on the checkbox for 'Public'
- Check 'Read Only' on the same row as 'Public'
- Pretty sure there is a 'Save' option you have to click to finalize, but I'm doing this from memory and can't recall correctly
