Dean's Scholars Science Fun Day - April 28
It's time for DS Science Fun Day again, and we need your help!!!
Each Spring we invite 100 middle school children to campus for a day. In
the morning, we entertain them with a Chemistry Circus. Following a lunch
at the cafeterias on campus, we split them into groups and take them on
tours to various labs.
Here's a tenative schedule for this year's Science Fun Day (Friday April
28th):
9 a.m. --> Kids arrive
9:10 - 11:15 --> Chemistry Circus
11:15- 11:30 --> Walk to Jester/ Kinsolving for lunch
11:30- 12:15 --> Lunch
12:15- 12:30 --> Walk to respective labs for tours
12:30- 1:00 --> Lab Tour
1- 1:15 --> Walk to a final meeting place
1:15- 1:30 --> Wrap- up
1:30 --> Kids leave
We know that people have classes throughout the day, so any time you can
donate would be wonderful. We need people to: perform the chemistry circus;
chaperone the circus and lunch; lead/ chaperone lab tours. If you cannot
help out on that day itself, there should be some stuff to do ahead of time
if you're interested. Contact Pooja
soon if you are interested.
Dean's Scholars Musicale XV
The Fifteenth Annual Dean's Scholars Musicale will be Sunday
April 16 at 6PM. You are cordially invited to attend and have dinner.
Independent of talent, you are also encouraged to perform.
Please consider playing, singing, juggling, reading a poem, doing a skit,
climbing through a cave, ... . Once again talent is a sufficient but not
necessary condition for performing.
The event will once again be held at the home of Dr. Starbird, and a
