Class Attendance

You must come to class.  There will be a sign in sheet every day.

Your Contributions to the Class

I’ll ask you to make three kinds of contributions:

·         Approximately every other class meeting, I’ll ask everyone to bring in a relevant article from some recent media source.  You should come prepared to describe your article (and its significance) to the class.

·         For several of the topics that we’ll discuss, I’ll hand out one article to get our discussion going.  I’ll ask each of you to read it and to find and bring in at least one more article on the same subject.  You should come prepared to contribute to our discussion by, among other things, sharing your article with us.

·         We will discuss the way that various scientific disciplines are likely to affect the world in which we live.  I’ll expect you to make particular contributions when we’re considering your major area(s).

Students with Disabilities

Any student with a documented disability (physical or cognitive) who requires academic accommodations should contact the Services for Students with Disabilities area of the Office of the Dean of Students at 471-6259 (voice) or 471-4641 (TTY for users who are deaf or hard of hearing) as soon as possible to request an official letter outlining authorized accommodations.

Additional Class Policies

You should read CS Department Code of Conduct. The policies described there will be followed in this class.
