GradFest Hosts

Grad student hosts provide a place for one or more prospective grad student(s) to sleep on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, and help transport student(s) during the weekend if possible. Hosts are invited and encouraged to attend all GradFest events throughout the weekend.

In addition to hosting, please note if you are willing to also help with either of the following:

Guidance & Navigation
There will be many prospective students in transit, either moving from event to event or looking for particular professors' offices and labs for individual meetings on Friday. We're looking for a few volunteers to be on hand to give directions. Times where we will especially need people are 9:40am-9:55am and 2:10pm-2:45pm. If you volunteer to walk students over to lunch at Austin's Pizza around 12:15pm, then you are welcome to stay and eat.
Bull Session Speakers
The "bull session" on Friday (4:30pm to 5:15pm) is an opportunity for prospective students to find out what living in Austin and working at UT is really like. We're looking for grad students to participate in the discussion and help answer their questions. If you have a particular topic of expertise, please note it under Comments.
