Assalam u Alaikum!

I am Hamid. I am a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin, under the supervision of Professor Daniel Miranker. My work is mostly related to the Morphster project.

My research is on the ontology of morphology based phylogenetics (systematic biology). I am working on the representation of concepts in a phylogenetic workflow in an ontological form, integration of scientific images into ontologies and discovery of ontologies using domain knowledge. I have implemented an image driven workflow for ontology development. I have also developed a method for solving data integration problems like creating mappings between ontology languages and mapping SQL databases to ontologies.

More details on my research can be found in the research and publications pages...
