GNOFAI is a weekly study group for working through Chris Bishop’s book “Pattern Recognition and Machine Learning”, composed of UT grad students in CS and ECE. Each meeting consists of a student-given lecture, student-assigned homework problems, and discussion.  GNOFAI stands for “GNOFAI is not GOFAI”, which sounds a little better than “GNewFAI: Good New Fashioned AI”.  This group is particularly good for those wanting to keep up with the “NIPS-ification” of ICML.

Meetings are Fridays 3-4:30 in CSA lounge (upstairs AI Lab).
