About Me

I'm a final-year PhD candidate in Computer Science at The University of Texas at Austin, advised by Prof. Lili Qiu.

I work at the intersection of signal processing and deep learning. My research focuses on utilizing wireless and acoustic signals to advance mobile systems for positioning, tracking, and imaging applications.

Experienced in production-scale recommendation systems, early-stage ranking, online experimentation, and ML–infrastructure co-design through industry deployment at Meta.

Meta β€” Feeds & Notifications Recommendation
Summer 2024
  • Designed and deployed Decoupled Sparse Neural Networks (DSNN) for Early-Stage Ranking (ESR) in Meta's notification and feed recommendation stack, replacing production two-tower models.
  • Achieved substantial offline ranking gains (up to +26% AUC ALR) and validated quality and capacity trade-offs through online A/B experiments, positioning DSNN as a production launch candidate.
  • Developed configurable Best-Time Predictor (BTP) feature caching strategy, enabling 2K+ user features to be cached with improved calibration and no AUC regression.
  • Collaborated closely with infra and product teams to align model design with serving efficiency and production constraints.
