Welcome to R/Overlog

Overview:

R/Overlog is a typed distributed declarative language than can be used to build Internet overlays. R/Overlog heavily borrows language semantics from Overlog .

The distribution includes

R/Overlog-to-Java translator: implemented using XTC , takes in R/Overlog files and translates them into Java classes.

Java-based R/Overlog runtime: provides the underlying infrastructure to run the generated classes.

Because the runtime is completely in Java, it is easy to interface R/Overlog with other Java-programs. Please refer to the instructions for more details.

We have successfully used R/Overlog to implement several efficient large scale data replication systems over the Practi framework.
