Department of Computer Science

PhD Candidate and Graduate Research Assistant

Nam-Phuong Duc Nugyen, MS

I am a fifth year PhD student studying Computer Science under the supervision of Dr. Tandy Warnow. My research interest is in the area of computational phylogenetics, with an emphasis on analyzing large-scale datasets.  My current projects include supertree reconstruction, masking of alignments, ultra-large alignment and tree estimation techniques, and taxonomic identification of metagenomic reads.  In my spare timee, you can catch me playing guitar under the UT Tower.
