Low-Level Vision

Receptive fieldsgif are probably the most common building blocks of perceptual systems. In this section, I describe two models that deal with receptive fields, the first addressing the formation of the orientation-selective RFs found in V1, and the second exploring the possibility to make the output of a bank of RFs less sensitive to input transformations that may interfere with object recognition.
