Deer Mountain and Fan Lake are seen looking southeast down the valley from between Mt. Chiquita and Ypsilon Mountain.
Fan Lake was created by the alluvial fan (rocks and sand washed down) when the Lawn Lake dam failed, forming a new dam on Fall River. Eventually Fan Lake is expected to fill with silt and disappear.
Trail Ridge Road can be seen climbing the ridge at right.
