Hi. My name is Robert Lynch.
I'm 18 years old, currently living in Austin, Texas
I am a student at the University of Texas. I'm in the College of Natural Sciences, currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science.
Computer Science is my passion
Since high school, I have had a passion for web development and programming. My first exposure to the realm of CS was through java, which is my most proficient programming language. I have since picked up web languages, including HTML5, CSS3, PHP, MySql, and JavaScript.
Though throughout high school I was not presented any academic resources in the realm of CS, I actively spent my personal time using online means to study the different languages which I know today. Most of my free time initially was spent exploring the uses and implementations of java based off of projects I'd come up with using the java documentation, after I found an online tutorial and quickly mastered it. Although the extent of my abilities was greatly limited due to my lack of formal education in these regards, my studies here at the University of Texas have grounded my knowledge of the fundamentals and opened the door for furthering and honing these skills.
I am the webmaster for two organizations here at the University of Texas, including the campus' chapter of the Lions Club, and an organization started by a collective of students, including myself, with an interest of making CS resources more available, named the Society of Student Developers.
In addition, I made all of the markup and scripts for both this website, and my second website, which acts as a homepage for a minecraft server.
