7/29: First class day is on August 26th.

to tell me what it is so I can get you a Z server account.
8/10: UPDATE: If you do not already have a CS department account, you should be able to get one from
here starting August 20th.
8/26: Information on office hours added to this page and the syllabus. Information about the departmental UNIX course
added to the schedule.
8/31: Grade percentage distribution updated on syllabus.
9/2: You can use the following script to change your MySQL password: mysqllogin.sh. You must do this
by 9/14 for class participation credit. Simply download to UNIX and type "sh mysqllogin.sh csusername".
9/2: All students should have received an email from me regarding Z server and MySQL access. If you have not received this email,
then contact me immediately.
9/3: CORRECTION:
You can login to your MySQL account by downloading mysqllogin.sh to UNIX and typing:
"sh mysqllogin.sh csusername". However, to change your password, you can use this
script: mysqlpassword.sh.
Type the following: "sh mysqlpassword.sh csusername newpassword".
You will be asked for the old password to confirm. This password change is due on 9/14.
9/12: I've decided to move my Tuesday office hour to Thursday. Please inform me if you cannot make any of the
available office hours. Also, the turnin commands for all assignments have been activated.
9/16: The login page for all sites associated with the class now offers the ability to change your password if you
check a box on the login screen.
9/16: Assignment 1 deadline extended to noon on the 17th (12 more hours to work on it). Your files must be both submitted
via turnin and be present on the Z server.
9/23: All assignments are now posted. Feel free to work ahead.
10/6: This week, my Thursday office hour will be moved to Friday 10/9 from 10am - 11am.
10/22: The last class day is cancelled, but will be replaced with office hours. So, on Monday 10/26 I will be in the
lab from 12:00 - 2:00. This is my last scheduled office hour, but I can meet with students if you schedule
an appointment by email.
