About Me

I'm a second year PhD student at the Computer Sciences department of UT Austin .
Before that, I completed my Bachelors at the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, India, in 2008.

Research

My research interest is in the broad area of Computational Biology and Bioinformatics. More specifically, I'm interested in the mathematical modeling of a biological problem, using Machine Learning and statistical techniques.

I have worked in several areas of computational biology, including protein sequence and structure evolution, RNA sequence alignment and computational phylogenetics .

Currently I am developing heuristics for optimization problems in the Supertree setting.
