BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I was born on December 21st in 1974. Do the math.

My parents are from rather dissimilar backgrounds: my father (Kenneth) teaches Philosophy at the University of North Texas in Denton and is a freelance artist and writer. My mother (Angela) works on chemotherapy research at the UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.

I have two siblings, Devon and Kristen. Both are older than I am, but neither can beat me at Tetris, so we're even. Devon is majoring in Psychology here at UT, and Kristen is completing her doctorate at the University of Cincinnati, which makes sense, as she is the best flutist on the planet Earth.

Our family doesn't move much, for many of the same reasons that the library of congress doesn't move much. We lived in Baton Rouge, Louisiana until 1983, when we moved to Duncanville, Texas. Duncanville is a satellite of Dallas, the way that flaming pieces of Skylab are satellites of Earth.

In late 1990 (I was fifteen), I left the graces of the Duncanville public school system to continue my education at the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Sciences , an early admissions program at the University of North Texas. In essence, I went to college for two years, went completely out of my mind, and received a high school diploma plus college credit. I'm feeling much better now.

While at the Academy I met most of my current friends, including Wade, who has been my housemate since then.

I graduated from the Academy in the Spring of 1992, and moved to Austin. I have no plans to leave.

I am currently on leave from my academic studies, and work here at UT.
