This course will cover a variety of topics dealing with asynchronous distributed computation over the web. It will cover both theory and practice. There is no textbook; I will hand out the relevant materials ahead of the class. I will lecture for the first half of the course, there will be a few guest lecturers and you will lecture for the remaining part. I will lecture on the issues in web services orchestration, workflow and concurrent program composition, and discuss my new project, Orc.
There is no final exam. You have to study a topic, give a lecture, and prepare a report.
