Ruh Roh...

Spielberg's War of the Worlds is only having a 6.7 user rating on IMDB, though you most definitely cant judge the quality of the film based on measly 1500 or so votes from those lucky arses that got to screen it.

I really enjoyed all of Spielberg's big-budget blockbusters one time or another, even Jurassic Park 2 was utterly amusing when i first saw it in theater back in China. It was one of those elementary school field trips intended to give us "a glimpse to western culture". Except instead of culture, they showed us hopping dinasaurs. At least it was somewhat "different" from the hopping Jackie Chan that i used to see on tv all the time, so it provided enough entertainment back then. but now after rewatching the movie, i just pray that War of the Worlds wont stink as much.

Since i cant stand watching big-budget CGI films on my tiny 12-inch laptop screen, i'll probably run down to the theater this weekend and catch it in action, if any of you guys in katy misses austin to death and feels like wasting money for the i'd-rather-pump-milk gas price, then i'll treat you up with some butterlicious popcorn for the movie and a pleasantly nice couch for the stay. =D

maybe i'll just go back to h-town this weekend, since it's a long weekend and austin + summer school are totally kicking my arse.

Sad day for the Wal-Mart family =/

John Walton, Sam Walton's second oldest son, the 7th richest American in 2004 ranked by Forbes, crashed his ultralight test plane shortly after takeoff on Monday and perished, at the age of 58. you can read the full story here. A Google search on "famous people who died in plane crashes" brought up this site, which had some interesting info, and some more saaaaaad stories.

heh for some reason this reminds me about the movie Secondhand Lions, which was a greeeeeeeeat movie IMO. if you havent seen it, go blockbuster the dvd and walgreen some kleenex, now!! or maybe you should walmart the dvd AND the kleenex, it might even turn out cheaper =P somehow im not quite embarassed to admit that the movie made me shed some tears. you officially qualify as an eDonkey (emotionless arse) if you can sit through the whole film the way i sat through Lemony Snicket. You wonder how i sat through that? well...

while(movie.stiiiiiiiiiiiiiiillAintOver())
{
my_expression = " zzzzzzzzzzzz -.- zzzzzzzzzzzz -.- zzzzzzzzzzzzz";
my_action = whipes("drool") &&("yawn")outloud;
my_realization = "fuk it's a cruel world out there for my 6 bucks"
}
i guess i was sleepy and tired walking into the movie... feel kinda bad giving it such horrific comments... afterall it's Jim Carrey, a man i fully admired the talent of. =P

and to go back to topic... R.I.P. Walton, and to all those lives that were claimed by great misfortunes... peace
