Congratulations to Jeff Donahue, Ivo Popov, and David Wahler, three of our Turing Scholars, who were named Dean's Honored Graduates, the highest honor that the College of Natural Sciences bestows upon graduating seniors!

Congratulations to Andy Luong for winning this year's CS Department Best Undergraduate Thesis award! His thesis, "Reconstructing a Fragmented Face from an Attacked Secure Identification Protocol," was advised by Kristen Grauman.

John Wright and Brandon Blakeley received Honorable Mention in the 2010 CRA Outstanding Undergraduate Award competition.

September 2009

Aidan Coyne from New York was the first recipient of the Danny Toole Memorial Turing Scholars Scholarship, which was created in memory of Danny Toole, a Turing Scholar who passed away in a tragic accident in 2007.

May 2009

Josh Gunter won the CS department's Best Undergraduate Thesis Award for his thesis, "On Avoidable Two Element Sets of Partial Words". Josh worked with Elaine Rich and Professor Francine Blanchet-Sadri (UNC-Greensboro).
