I am a second year masters student in the Department of Computer Science at The University of Texas at Austin. I am currently working as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Intelligent Data Exploration and Analysis Laboratory(IDEAL) under the supervision of Dr. Joydeep Ghosh. Prior to this, I completed my bachelors in computer science at the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-H). At IIIT-H, I was working closely with Dr. Vikram Pudi and Dr. Kamal Karlapalem.

I am interested in the broad areas of Machine Learning, Parallel applications and Information Retrieval. My research has been largely focussed on the areas of Association Rule Mining, Search and Multi-Document Relevancy Ranking, and building Massively Parallel Data Mining Applications.

I spent the summer of 2009 at Kosmix working on automatic taxonomy generation to improve their categorization service. Currently, I am working on a Terascale density-based clustering algorithm in collaboration with Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) and Pervasive Software.

I spent all my childhood in a small, hindu piligrimage town in South India called Tirupathi. It houses one of the most famous and richest hindu temple in the world (and no wonder we have guests all around the year :)). I did all my schooling in Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan . I really had a lot of fun there and miss those days !! My undergraduate days at Hyderabad are probably the most fun of all. Hyderabad is a beautiful and historic city in South India. It has an amazing blend of history and modernity in all its facets. The one thing I miss most in this place is a delicious Biryani and long motorbike drives.

As per my hobbies, I love adventures and had wonderful time doing Skydiving, Paragliding and White River Rafting. I used to frequently trek wild hills and sometimes get stuck up there too !! I also love traditional Indian music and food.
