The Parker Skiba Memorial Endowed Presidential Scholarship in Computer Science fund was launched in early 2018 in memory of Parker Skiba who died tragically and unexpectedly in his sleep on December 12, 2017. Parker Skiba was a computer science student and Longhorn who touched many people’s lives and is remembered by family and friends as being wise beyond his years, brilliant beyond reasonable, and loving to all. He was entrepreneurial in spirit, and as such, the scholarship in his name will create a legacy of support for future Longhorn students in computer science who share similar entrepreneurial aspirations. The UT Computer Science and extended Longhorn community mourn the loss of this young man along with those who were closest to him. For those who wish to help create a tribute in his memory at the university, the Skiba family has requested donations be directed to the Parker Skiba Memorial Endowed Presidential Scholarship in Computer Science.
