At Oracle, I am responsible for performance and scalability analysis of Oracle’s Solaris Infiniband networking stack which is the networking backbone of the Oracle Exadata Storage Server, Oracle’s flagship database product. The Exadata machine uses a massively parallel architecture and Exadata Smart Flash Cache to dramatically accelerate Online Transaction Processing (OLTP), and Data Warehousing (DW) processing and speed I/O operations. High speed Infiniband networking is critical to its operation.
