I am an Associate Professor of Instruction in The University of Texas at Austin Computer Science Department. Recently, I became the Associate Chair of Undergraduate Education for the department. In that role, I oversee way too many processes, sign too many forms, and have way too many meetings. Otherwise, I have been fortunate enough to spend my days teaching systems to undergraduates and performing outreach to local schools.
My research interests, back when I had time to have them, were in the intersection of supercomputing and program analysis with a special interest in static techniques to improve checkpointing. I was also interested in large-scale simulation. I received both my M.S. in computer science and my Ph.D. in computer science from this department. I received my bachelor's degree, also in computer science, from Georgia Tech. Here is my undergraduate website.
