To obtain the PLAPACK source code:

1. Important: Contact us at
   plapack@cs.utexas.edu
   and let us know for what you intend to use PLAPACK. Often, we will point you to other packages that are more appropriate.
2. Zen and the Art of HPPC (Tutorial).
3. Optionally, order Using PLAPACK (Users' Guide) from The MIT Press.
4. Get the source:
   • http://www.cs.utexas.edu/users/plapack/Downloads/PLAPACKR32.tgz
5. The installation is pretty self-explanatory:
   • gunzip PLAPACKR32.tgz
   • tar -xf PLAPACKR32.tar
   • cd PLAPACKR32
   • Pick the appropriate Make.include file from directory Make.includes
   • Edit the Make.include file to set the paths correctly
   • Type "make"
   • cd to directory EXAMPLES and try some different operations
6. Note: If you need to use the FORTRAN interface on 64-bit systems, contact us for more instructions.
