Workshop Theme

AI is rapidly moving beyond digital benchmarks into the physical world, where it must perceive noisy environments, interact with people and devices, operate under resource constraints, and remain reliable as conditions change.

The Real-World AI Workshop brings together leaders in AI, robotics, healthcare, sensing, wireless, and computing systems around a common question: What will it take to make AI work reliably and usefully in the real world?

Real-world intelligence cannot be addressed by AI algorithms alone. It requires advances across the entire stack, from sensing and perception to learning, systems, networking, and human interaction. Challenges that appear different across robotics, healthcare, mobile systems, and sensing often share common roots: incomplete and noisy observations, limited resources, changing environments, reliability requirements, and the need to interact safely and effectively with people.

Rather than treating these areas in isolation, this workshop aims to connect researchers across communities, identify shared challenges, and uncover opportunities that emerge at their intersections. Through short talks and focused discussions, we seek to develop a cross-disciplinary research agenda for the next generation of real-world AI systems.
