Known Issues with Rational Rose

1. Rational Rose is not supported on Windows XP - Home Edition

Solution: No solution yet, will be posted as soon as available. Rational Rose works fine on Windows XP - Professional Edition (available at the campus store). You can also use Rose on the Painter Microlab machines (get Microlab user accounts).

2. The Data Modeler is not visible in Rational Rose

OR

you cannot see "Transform to Data Model"

Solution 1.: Make sure all classes are INSIDE a logical package (logical view -->new package. then drag-drop all classes to that package. Right click on package --> data modeler -->Transform to data model).

Solution 2: Please follow these steps to solve the problem:
      1. Install Microsoft .NET framework 1.1
      2. Uninstall Rational Rose.
      3. Reinstall Rational Rose
      4. The Data Modeler should now be visible.
