As of Fall 2021, I am a Ph.D student in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Texas at Austin, where I'm advised by Prof. Sriram Vishwananth. I'm gratetful to be supported by a PhD Fellowship from the Cooperative AI Foundation. I was previously a scholar in the ML Alignment and Theory scholars (MATS) program, a visiting scholar under Vince Conitzer at the Foundations of Cooperative AI Lab (FOCAL) at CMU, and a summer research fellow at the Center on Longterm Risk (CLR). I recieved my bachelor's degree in computer science and mathematics from Carleton College in Spring 2020.
I'm broadly interested in algorithmic game theory and cooperative AI. My research is often concerned with ways that strategic interactions involving advanced AI systems could differ from traditional game theoretic interactions (such as those among humans and firms), and when and how these differences can be leveraged to ensure the interactions go well. I'm also interested in theoretical computer science and AI safety more generally.
