Austin has extensive city and university bus systems, so it relatively easy to get around town by bus. There is a bus from Austin Bergstrom International Airport that stops at UT at 26th and Guadalupe. Free 'Dillo buses run between downtown and Jester Center on campus.
The Star Shuttle runs from the airport to hotels in Austin for $18.

You can find your way around Austin using the numbered streets. Most east-west streets are numbered from the river (Cesar Chavez Street, a.k.a 1st Street) on the south to just past the airport on the north (52nd Street). The entertainment district is on 6th Street, extending to 4th St., and the conference center is on Dean Keeton Street (a.k.a. 26th Street).
