About Me

Thanks for visiting my website! I'm Pranav Chandupatla, an aspiring developer.

I am a senior computer science and finance student at UT Austin. While I am not sure what I plan to specialize in, I enjoy building projects that allow me to learn about new subjects.

In my free time, I like to play pool, eat Thai food, and think about why I've never seen a baby pigeon. I mean, they have to be out there somewhere, right?

I am currently looking for a full-time SWE role with a 2023 start date.

Featured Projects

UT Grade Distribution Ranker: A full-stack application for UT students to visualize and rank course grade distributions. Built from scratch using ReactJS, NodeJS, and SQL. Deployed using Heroku and Netlify.

Bamboo ISA: Documentation, assembler, and simulator for the custom, CISC-based Bamboo ISA. Built in Java and C.

GTSRB Conv Net: A convolutional neural network built to identify German Street Signs. Gradient visualizations were performed to analyze the network. Developed using PyTorch


Software Development Intern at PIMCO

June 2022 - August 2022

  • Saved company $50,000 per year by building replacement for third-party search application with ~3,000 daily active users
  • Implemented a responsive user experience in AngularJS and Typescript to enable users to explore and modify search results
  • Reduced response times by 50% by programmatically creating optimized OData/REST API queries and pagination systems
  • Collaborated with business analysts, product designers, and sales personnel in Jira to track and improve application

Data Structures Teaching Assistant at the University of Texas at Austin

  • Increase student comprehension by leading office hours to help students with coding assignments and course material

Software Development Intern at Fast Enterprises, LLC

June 2021 - August 2021

  • Work with Driver Control Team in an Agile environment to implement updated drivers' service systems for Alabama
  • Boost user efficiency by creating an automated out-of-state claims sub-system that handles all steps of the license suspension process, from the initial suspension to the creation of reinstatement requirements and the reinstatement itself
  • Facilitate business cohesion by communicating client needs to developers and presenting thorough tech demos to clients
  • Configure dynamic data cubes to analyze and visualize data by writing logic to filter and format raw, relational datasets

Research Fellow at Applied Research Laboratories

June 2020 - August 2020

  • Investigated single-photon, multi-qubit systems using VQOL, a virtual quantum optics simulator
  • Created Python and Mathematica automation programs to construct, manipulate, and analyze research datasets
  • Co-authored a research paper written on photon particle-wave duality and presented findings to senior researchers
