        Welcome to Amaze for Algernon

Amaze works with Algernon v3 and higher. It is
a Java program that communicates with the LISP
implementation of Algernon to allow the user to
browse the knowledge base.

It also has a full interface to the LISP process,
so any operation can be executed from Amaze rather
than switching back and forth between the two windows.

You can start and quit Amaze as many times as
you like without any negative effect on the Algernon
session.

The display has four parts:

MENU BAR
  - Load files into LISP
  - Run examples
  - Set Algernon trace parameters
  - Clear or load the KB
  - Display Help files

FRAME DISPLAY
  - Display the contents of a frame
  - Display the compiled form of a rule

KB BROWSER (3 browsers)
  - Display the tree formed by a frame and a slot.

LISP I/O
  - Execute any LISP form and see the result.

WARNING: Do not select the "Destroy" command from
the window manager (e.g. Motif) menu. This
will terminate the entire Amaze process.
Use the "Close" or "Iconify" commands instead.
