About

A longer introduction

The short version is on the homepage. This is the version with the detours left in — where the interest started, what I am working on now, and the things I spend time on that have nothing to do with a compiler.

How I got here

From Python Turtle to a vehicle bus

I started programming in 2021 through TechSparx, a small training school in Bangalore that taught me over video call in one-on-one sessions. The first course was pure fundamentals — loops, conditionals, functions — and it ended with a thousand-line Python Turtle drawing that I was unreasonably proud of. The next two levels got progressively less decorative: a bulk email sender, then a standalone desktop application with a Tkinter front end over a MySQL database. By the end I understood that a program is not a script you run once but a thing other people have to use.

Code2College took that further. Their embedded systems course put me in front of a Raspberry Pi with a GPIO header and a pile of components, and I built a vehicle dashboard GUI in C++ and Qt Creator that actually responded to physical circuits I had wired myself. Their Elite program taught the parts of software nobody mentions in a tutorial — version control, Jira tickets, code review, testing. Their AI program, four months and a hundred hours long, is where I built my first genuinely full-stack product.

Three summers at Polaris turned that into professional work. Writing C++ and QML inside a codebase that hundreds of engineers depend on is a different discipline from writing it alone: your mistakes are expensive, your abstractions outlive you, and the most valuable skill is being able to read somebody else’s code accurately before you touch it.

I am now a first-year Computer Science student at The University of Texas at Austin, Class of 2030. I chose UT for its systems and architecture faculty and for the fact that it is twenty minutes from where I grew up, which means the communities I have been part of for years are still within reach.

Academic record

Before UT

I graduated from Stony Point High School in Round Rock in 2026, ranked 16th in a class of 578 with an unweighted 4.0, and took every computing course the school offered.

Computing coursework

IB Computer Science HL (score of 5), AP Computer Science A, AP Computer Science Principles, and Foundations of Cybersecurity — alongside IB Business Management, Business Law, and Practicum in Entrepreneurship.

Certifications

Certiport IT Specialist in Java, Certiport IT Specialist in Cybersecurity, and the Entrepreneurship and Small Business certification.

Competition

Four years of UIL Computer Science, finishing first at Stony Point on raw written score, and two years of UIL Number Sense — where I took my score from 10/400 to 100/400 through nothing but repetition.

Other things I spend time on

Most of what I have learned about leading a project I learned by running clubs, not by writing code.

2024 – 2026

Mu Alpha Theta

Founder and Vice President

Founded the Stony Point chapter of the national mathematics honor society from nothing: set up membership, ran competitions, and hosted weekly SAT and PSAT tutoring. It grew from ten members to over seventy and became the fourth-largest club at the school.

2023 – 2026

HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America)

Vice President, previously Treasurer

Supported more than 140 students through competition preparation, with five teams advancing to State, and stood in as acting president when needed. As treasurer I managed a budget over $20,000 and returned more than $2,000 in profit, running fundraisers from a haunted house to a club banquet.

2024 – 2026

DECA

Financial Chair

Elected to oversee chapter finances — the ledger, every transaction, and the club vending machine. Competed in Entrepreneurship Team Decision Making and finalized at the State level in 2026.

2024 – 2026

Round Rock Healthy Hearts

Co-founder

Started a nonprofit with five peers to raise awareness of cardiovascular health. We raised over $2,500 for the American Heart Association through bake sales, a 5K, sports tournaments, and bingo at senior homes; presented to elementary and middle school students; and built a social media presence that generated more than 160,000 interactions. The work earned a KXAN segment and recognition from the Mayor of Round Rock.

2021 – 2026

Greater Austin Malayalee Association

Secretary, GAMA Youth Group

Helped plan and run cultural and religious events such as Onam and Vishu for hundreds of families in the Austin-area Malayalee community, gathering input from members to shape what the events actually became.

2013 – 2023

Piano

ABRSM Grades 1 through 5, Practical and Theory

Ten years of lessons and ABRSM examinations, performing three selected pieces per grade and earning distinction in Theory every year. I played solo at local recitals for audiences of fifty or more. Sight-reading taught me patience with hard things that do not work the first time, which has been useful in every other part of this page.
