Whichever way the hypothesis turns out to be, the results of the
experiment, we believe, would be very significant. If the hypothesis
turns out to be true, then current knobs as described earlier would be
rendered unnecessary. If the hypothesis turns out to be false, then
by precisely characterizing an application domain where it holds or
fails, our experimental results will serve as a quick and easy reference for an
application developer to reason whether he needs those sophisticated
knobs for his purposes. This, we believe, would go a long way in
removing the fuzziness that currently plagues an application developer
when choosing security policies for his applications.
