Research Interests

My name is Elad Liebman, I am a PhD student at the Computer Science Department, UT Austin. My advisor is Prof. Peter Stone, and I'm a proud member of the Learning Agents Research Group.

I am currently focused on learning musical preference and preference elicitation in cultural settings in general. I am also interested in modeling the effects of musical stimuli on human decision making, and agents learning to interact with people in social settings (for instance, playing music).

Generally speaking, my interests are in the fields of machine learning, artificial intelligence, data mining and algorithmic game theory. I am equally attracted to both the theoretic and the applicative sides of these research areas. Over the last few years, I have been working on applying various algorithmic tools in music, something which I personally find exciting, as it combines two of my greatest passions. I have also dabbled in more traditional research in bioinformatics and algorithmic game theory.
