The objective of this course is to familiarize the students with
current research in cryptography. This course is a special topics
course (as opposed to a breadth or diversity course); and we'll focus
on certain topics in depth. A strong focus will be put on exploring
cryptographic systems that deliver functionality beyond what is seen
in an introductory cryptography course. In addition, attention
will be given to developing rigorous proofs for the security of such
systems.
An important goal of this course is to encourage class discussion
and interaction. In addition, each student will give a twenty
minute presentation of a paper (or subject) meant to simulate a conference
talk. Some students may alternatively elect to do a course project.
Components of the class include:
 Class Participation
 Scribe Notes
 Problem Sets
