Introduction to traditional and recent methodologies for indexing, processing, querying, and classifying unstructured and semi-structured textual data, including hypertext and World Wide Web documents. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Computer Sciences 371R and 378 (Topic: Intelligent Information Retrieval and Web Search) may not both be counted.
