Ryan Farell
Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Ryan Farell is a Postdoctoral Fellow in Computer Science, working with Chandrajit Bajaj. He earned his Ph.D. in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from UT Austin, following his undergraduate and master's studies at the University of Pennsylvania. Ryan's research focuses on reliability and uncertainty in machine learning systems and on machine learning for scientific simulation. He is Co-PI of a U.S. Army-funded program developing intelligent networking agents for military radio communications.

Current Research:
Ryan develops methods for certifying when an automated decision can be trusted. He also co-leads Dynamic Belief Games, a U.S. Army-funded program building reinforcement-learning agents that keep tactical radio networks connected in contested environments.
