The University of Texas at Austin Department of Computer Science (UTCS) Friends of Computer Science (FoCS) 2011 Career Brunch was held in conjunction with the College of Natural Sciences (CNS) Career Expo on September 19, 2011 at the Frank Erwin Center.

The FoCS Career Brunch brings select UTCS students, our FoCS partners, representatives from the College of Natural Sciences (CNS) and UTCS faculty and staff together for an energetic and effective recruiting and networking opportunity that links industry and UTCS talent. Department Chair Bruce Porter recognized FoCS partners and top UTCS students, including Turing Scholars, student organization representatives, and Five-Year BS/MS Integrated Program students.

Both students and FoCS partners described the brunch as an extremely beneficial and worthwhile event. Several FoCS partners said it was exactly the type of event they needed for their recruitment efforts and most said it was their favorite recruiting event of the year. Students were excited about the contacts they made and many left the event feeling inspired about their futures and careers.

If you are interested in joining FoCS to take advantage of these types of events, please see FoCS Partnership Information or contact Nancy Hatchett at 512-471-9793.
