UT recently launched the Robotics Consortium, a group that brings together researchers from industry and across campus to collaborate on robotics research.

UT and industry will work together to further innovation in the field of computer systems research through a program called the Systems Research Consortium, launched by the UT Department of Computer Science.

TXCS Researchers Design Evolutionary Algorithms for Neural Networks

Texas Computer Science graduate students Garrett Bingham and William Macke, under the advisement of TXCS professor Risto Miikkulainen, are contributing to the improvement of AI with their research concerning the evolutionary optimization of activation functions as a potential means of improving neural networks, which may ultimately lead to the creation of smarter and more accurate AI.
