02/06/2012 - UTCS recognized scholarship recipients, scholarship donors, and Friends of Computer Science (FoCS) partners with a Scholarship Luncheon at the Alumni Center on February 1, 2012.

01/25/2012 - UTCS is grateful to our scholarship and fellowship donors whose partnerships with the department afford promising and deserving students the opportunity to study at a top-10 ranked department. These companies, foundations and individuals are crucial in enabling UTCS to recruit and retain top students.

12/16/2011 - 1 Semester Startup (ISS) is a new practicum course designed to accelerate UT undergraduate students’ startups for degree credit. It allows undergraduates to experience entrepreneurship first-hand while learning from some of the most successful entrepreneurs in Austin. On December 1st, 1SS students presented their startups in five-minute investor pitches to the Austin entrepreneurial community.

12/02/2011 - UTCS undergraduate students Ben Braun and Victor Vu have been selected for Honorable Mention in the Computing Research Association's Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Award competition for 2012.

09/19/2011 - The University of Texas at Austin Department of Computer Science (UTCS) Friends of Computer Science (FoCS) 2011 Career Brunch was held in conjunction with the College of Natural Sciences (CNS) Career Expo on September 19, 2011 at the Frank Erwin Center.

05/06/2011 - The Department of Computer Science congratulates its graduating students of 2011. We wished them “Good Bytes and Good Luck” with a graduation celebration catered by Austin’s own Amy’s Ice Cream.

05/03/2011 - On Friday, April 8, 2011, the College of Natural Sciences (CNS) hosted the annual Undergraduate Research Forum. Six UTCS students were recognized by the college for their outstanding posters and presentations and were honored with awards and fellowships.

04/18/2011 - The Department of Computer Science congratulates the 22 computer science majors who were recently elected to Phi Beta Kappa at its Spring meeting. Upon joining, they will be inducted into the national honor society at the UT chapter's Spring reception on Sunday, May 8, in the in the Ballroom of the AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center.
