08/18/2014 - The University of Texas of Austin's computer science program is the 6th best in the world, according to the 2014 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) compiled by the Center for World-Class Universities at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Vitaly Shmatikov Wins CNS Teaching Excellence Award

04/10/2014 - Vitaly Shmatikov has been selected to receive a CNS Teaching Excellence Award for 2014. The College of Natural Sciences Teaching Excellence Award is intended to provide recognition of the College’s many exceptional faculty who are committed to teaching at either the undergraduate or graduate level.

William Cook Wins 2014 Dahl-Nygaard Award

04/09/2014 - UTCS Associate Professor William Cook has won the prestigious 2014 Dahl-Nygaard Senior Prize. The Senior Prize is awarded to William Cook for his contributions to the theory and practice of object-oriented programming. Cook currently teaches Programming Languages and his research research focuses on improving the ability of programming languages to facilitate the development of efficient and maintainable software.

Wesley Tansey Selected as a 2014 KPCB Engineering Fellow

04/09/2014 - Wesley Tansey, a UTCS Graduate Student, was selected as a 2014 KPCB Engineering Fellow. Throught the KPCB Fellows Program, Wesley will have an opportunity to gain significant experience working on uniquely challenging technical, design and product problems while also developing new relationships that are meaningful to his career. He will also attend private events hosted by portfolio companies where he can meet talented engineering and design icons from across Silicon Valley. Wesley will be working with MyFitnessPal this summer.
